im a new member. wondering if anyone has any heads up on pipeline work i will travel anywhere.

they told me they have to hire 1/2 union welders and 1/2 non- union but they are hiring all welders through the 798 .I'm not sure how that works

They are using automatic welding to weld the pipe the only thing they were using welder for was tie ends thats what a man told me that works for the company their are putting the pipe in for. They told me they had their on welder on their pay roll.

They are already putting pipe in the ground beween Wrens and Thomson . They're clearing the right of way outside of Washington , about 200 yards from my shop . I heard the same thing about automated welding , I ' m interested to see how that is done .

I know I was in Thomson a couple months ago working on a bridge finished up early and the company I was working for sent me to Washington to work on another bridge on hwy59 over the oconee river.  And on the way to washington from thomson I seen all the pipe elbo next to the road and I stoped and talk to them but they was not the contactor doing the pipe they worked in the pump station were the pipe contractor was run the pipe.They give me the company # and I was going to call them but I didn't because I had a bridge starting up august 18 I am going to be on for a couple of months.
  The man told me it was a 5 step process and the bead was about 3/8" wide, I would like to see that too. Did you stop by and talk to the bridge company doing the bridge on hwy57 over the oconee river about machine work.
