The criteria is different between full RT and spot RT. ASME Section VIII, UW-52(c)(3) states:

"Rounded indications are not a factor in the acceptability of welds not required to be fully radiographed."

If I may, B13.3 isn't a BPV code. However, do you have a working current copy of B31.3?

the reference for Section VIII comes from B31.3 Table 341.3.2 where it tells you to use Section VIII Div 1 appendix 4 for size and distribution acceptance limits for porosity.

I have 2006 edition and it states "see BPV Code, SectionVIII, Division 1, Appendix 4; for size and distribution of internal porosity

You will have to purchase that particular document as the charts in the back cannot be copied reliably. Your acceptance criteria lies within them.
