hi guys,
i am a building trades welder and not a rig welder, and was wondering the swing out thing behind welder on a lot of rigs is that for fabbing and rollouts?  please give me a little info on setup of a rig truck.

Try the search feature, type in hoosier pole.......should get you what you want to know :)

so it is used basically as a boom for lead and for umbrellas and such?

I'm by no means a big "pipeliner" but put a hoosier pole on my truck. Been many times I've been working off the back and swung the pole and umbrella out and thought, dang, this is great! Have also taken several breaks for lunch under that umbrella.

you dont have to be a pipeliner to have a hoosier pole i got 1 on mine alot of good it does lost the umbrells the day after i put it on good old south texas dust storms
