I got a 6" peice of pipe that has a pinhole on one of the welds...wondering what the best thing to do whether it be grind part of that weld off and reweld, or just put a little 2" pass over the pinhole...it is a fuel line and holds about 150 psi...any help would be good.

grind it until no more pin hole. then weld it back up.

I would assume that this will be shut down and cut off from the source cleaned and filled with inert gas before hand right. I don't mean to talk down to anyone but I sure do see a lot of stupid s*** these days.

bootleg  the welders are right .... i had some 12inch xx heavy wall i did 2 repairs on it ,the third would be a cutout.  the shear wave tech told me i missed both tries so i finally just went to the root and re welded it.  so if in doubt just go all the way to the root.  It was a piece half the size a grain of sand.  i saw it right above the stringer.  d1.1          also u never know how far a pin whole will go it could be worm hole porisity that tunnels though your previous weld bead,  like with socket welds there a ***** to get out  if u one pass them.. they just move around.

Forget that, Air chipper the little spider bite to death!

I concur with what has been said; grind out the porosity and re-weld the section.  :)

you could cover it up by etching your stencil over it.
LOL

Grind it out and re-weld it. If you're worried about if you got it all out, hit it with a sanding disk an it'll show up if it's still there.
