Thoughts on projection stud welding brass to carbon steel?

Worries about copper embrittlement and or cracking?

What about resistance brazing with a silicon bronze interlayer?

What about plating to increase faying surface resistance?

If these studs are already made for projection welding, what do people weld them to?

I found part of the answer to my own question.

This publication says that only CD stud welding can join brass to steel.
