Way to go Ronnie!!! :) :) :) I just knew you could do it!!! Now you need to start practicing on your own time on some 3" diameter or less and on some socket welds as well... See if you can get a hold of A GTAW (TIG) rig for your machine with a cylinder of argon so you can get the feel of TIG welding and then practice on some open roots with carbon steel where you don't need to purge... And after you get familiar with that, you can then start welding on stainless where you do have to purge the pipe, and the point why I'm suggesting this to you is to keep you sharp as well as to keep you progressing and NOT resting on you laurels so to speak even though somehow I really don't think you are that type of individual so, at the very least it'll keep you hungry to learn more different techniques with different diameters and you can start developing your own version of walking the cup with your TIG torch.
Just remember to take your time, and get comfortable... And if you find yourself having a hard time well, you know where to go to ask for help because we will all be more than willing to do so as you already know by now... Once again, Congratulations Ronnie!!! :) :) :) Oh yeah and I almost forgot... Please pass my regards to your son and his Mother as well. :)
Respectfully,
Henry
