Absolutely appalling...........

I had a former employee call me earlier today inquiring about a job, and at the end of the conversation he gave me his phone number. I asked the former employee if this was a new cell phone number and he told me yes this was his “Obama phone.” I asked him what an “Obama phone” was and he went on to say that welfare recipients are now eligible to receive (1) a FREE new phone and (2) approx 70 minutes of FREE minutes every month. I was a little skeptical so I Googled it and low and behold he was telling the truth. TAX PAYER MONEY IS BEING REDISTRIBUTED TO WELFARE RECIPIENTS FOR FREE CELL PHONES. This program was started earlier this year. Enough is enough, the ship is sinking and it’s sinking fast. The very foundations that this country was built on are being shaken. The age old concepts of God, family, and hard work have flown out the window and are being replaced with “Hope and Change” and “Change we can believe in.” You can click on the link below to read more about the “Obama phone”…

This program was started in the Bush administration. It's actually pretty cool that if you lose your job you can at least have a number to put on your job apps. It's only two minutes a day, so it's not a big giveaway.

YOU MAKE A GOOD ARGUIMENT FOR THE CELLS, BUT..................I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HOW MANY ARE BEING USED FOR JOB SEARCHES.
I CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT THAT ANYTHING THE FEDS DO WILL RESULT IN WHAT IT WAS INTENDED FOR.

MA HAS BEEN GIVING CELLS , CARS AND GAS FOR A LONG TIME NOW.

Scott was appalled that someone was using his Bush phone to try and get a job.

It is a pretty good program, and if I remember correctly it was started in partnership with two or three of the big cell carriers.  What's unfortunate is that the wrong guy is getting credit for it. :)

I don't get it!!! All one has to do instead, is buy one of those "Magic Jack" phones for $39.99 and they get one year of service included in the price... If they wnat to renew srvice, it's only $19.99 per year, and it's what I use for my home phone nowadays and it even has free voice mail sent to your e-mail address as a .wmv file for you to hear the message while online. Since everyone has cable, they can buy the combo package where cable TV and high speed internet access is bundled for an excellent price compared to having all three in a bundle. I pay $50.00 a month for cell phone service which I can afford because of Magic Jack and still have a few "sheckles" left over to put away for a rainy day after all of the co-payments, drugs, food, car payments, insurance, other utilities, rent, gas and other miscellaneous expenses. I guess their drugs are more expensive than mine... Of course mine are all legal and theirs may not all be??? Plus, I've never been big on jewelry or furs or pimp mobiles either!!! ;) ;) ;) Nope no need for that crap in my life!!! :) :) :)

Respectfully,
Henry

Hank, nice plug for MagicJack!  :)  Actually am considering this.  Not a day goes by that I can't find something to complain about with Time Warner.

Hi Curt!

It really works as long as you've got enough free space on your hard drive (50%minimum). At first you may have some technical issues, but their customer service is really good an always were able to resolve the issue, and for the last few months i haven't had one issue at all with the service, so get yourself one, try it out for a month then tell your land line provider to walk the plank - that is unless they're the one supplying you with online access also but heck, you can always turn around and use cable internet instead as well, and it is fast but stay away from Verizon Fios because they'll suck out every last penny you have to pay those bills they send you... Time Warner isn't too bad from what I heard! ;)

Respectfully,
Henry

Actually, I have Verizon for my mobile plan, and honestly have not found anything that better suits me.  As for TWC, well right now they provide my cable, phone and internet.  The TV is mediocre at best.  The phone is plain old unrelaible.  When I forward it to my mobile I sometimes miss calls.  This is a real pain in the butt when I am out of town with the wife.  I want to ditch all but the RR access (nothing here to compete).  I'm really thinking ditch the landline altogether - the only reason I have it is my daughter, and I get to break that dinner plate next year.  I want DirecTV, so I can get Sunday Ticket and watch my two fav teams roll.  Hopefully :) As for hard drive space, no sweat.  The machine I have now is okay, the one I'm buying next spring is a monster.  Twin 7200's in RAID for just about 1tb of disk space.  Just on the fence for brand at the moment, but still not done spec'ing the machine out for power and video, so lots of time yet.  Have to see how W7 does in its first 6 months before I can even choose a processor with confidence.
