This is another email I received and I thought some of you may find it Interesting

White House will not do Christmas this year...

A very talented artist for several years has painted ornaments to be hung on the various White House Christmas trees. The WH sends out an invitation to send an ornament and informs the artists of the theme for the year.  She got her letter from the WH recently. It said that they would not be called Christmas trees this year. They will be called Holiday trees. And, to please not send any ornaments painted with a religious theme.

She was very upset at this development and sent back a reply telling them that she painted the ornaments for Christmas trees and would not be sending any for display that left Christ out of Christmas.

Just thought you should know what the new residents in the WH plan for the future of America . If you missed his statement that "we do not consider ourselves a Christian Nation" this should confirm that he plans to take us away from our religious foundation as quickly as possible.

Just another step toward turning America away from Christianity!  We should shout to the highest hills that the White House is ours - not the Obama's, and 85% of Americans believe in Christ (Christmas).

I know the only Amendment that "truly matters" is the 2nd.  But the 1st Amendment seems to be much overlooked in this instance.  America is not a purely Christian nation.  Although it was started by Christians.  You might recall the seperation of church and state from history class.  If it is a purely christian nation then once that is chisled in stone then what denomination will it be:  Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian, Anglican?

Its all about making a godless state.......right Bry
Parent - - By BryonLewis (****) Date 12-01-2009 02:46
Don't talk to me about it.  Ask Thomas Jefferson and them.  I didn't seperate church and state that was the same guys that wrote the blessed Bill of Rights.  People are going godless anyway without government intervention.

Bryon

There is no separation of church and state in any constitutional text or any other founding doccument.  (this does not mean we live in a theocracy)

The only mention of separation of church and state was by your buddy Thomas Jefferson when he wrote a letter to the Danbury Baptist church... Jefferson's view of separation was only to protect the churches from the government... NOT the other way around.

Live and learn.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of
religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging
the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right
of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the
Government for a redress of grievances.

I feel that town laws, schools, and groups like the ACLU are coming very close to crossing this line.
To those people who say “Christmas is a holiday for everyone” take a long look at the name of the holiday, IT IS OURS, AND IT IS ALL ABOUT OUR LORD SO BACK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The separation of church and state is misquoted almost as mush as “money is the root of all evil

OK SO WHAT.....

WAT R U A SPELLCHECKA

MY SPELLING ERRERS MUST MEAN IM FULL O CRAP.
Parent - - By BryonLewis (****) Date 12-01-2009 19:44
It's not a good sign when someone can't spell an acronym correctly.  It tends to diminsh credibility in many circles.  If one can't seem to master the basics of their native language how are they going to be able to convey any message and make it relevant.  I'm having trouble making my 8 year old understand the importance of language.  But she's trying.  :-)
Parent - By Mikeqc1 (****) Date 12-01-2009 22:02
You are correct, it is not a good thing.

So besides my spelling errors you cannot defend those groups.
Try making a  point, and stop hiding behind your pipe dream philosophies
it was a minor mistake and "no harm no foul", its not like I work for a Gov data entry company and made a 2 Billion Dollar typo.

Listen Mike!

Don't let this so called legend in his own mind get to you over a spelling error you made in the OTB&G of all places for crying out loud!!! Believe me when I proclaim this that no one and I mean no one individual in here including myself is or has ever been perfect in their ability to post replies, or start threads with consistent, error free spelling, or grammatically correct verbage for any length of time in here since I've been frequenting this forum which started back in May of 2001!

So, if he wants to think that he is immune to errors in all of his posts, or the few threads in which he started in here since he registered in here, then he is in fact in "denial" and he must think that it is indeed a river in Egypt!!! :) :) :) The malady's title of Bryon's condition is known as "Delusions of Grandeur!!!" :) :) ;) So let him reach for proverbial straws since that about all he has left to do in any event. ;)

Respectfully,
Henry

Come on Henry, misspelled acronyms?  There is a big difference between UCLA and ACLU.  Now there are some similarities between Berkeley and ACLU.  :-)
Parent - - By ssbn727 (*****) Date 12-01-2009 20:59
See what I mean? "Berekely and ACLU" It's spelled: "Berkeley and NOT Berekely!" CAPECHE??? Do a better job of setting a standard, or stop criticizing over petty stuff! ;)

"Do not judge so that you will not be judged." Matthew 7:1,

"Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things." Romans 2:1...

And finally: "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without (any) sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." John 8:7
King James Bible version.

Maybe these will help you (I use it myself to remind me of my own fallibility!) out before you reach at straws for no apparent reason other than the fact that you have run out of logical as well as sincere debate B! ;)

Respectfully,
Henry

I learned a long time ago, I am not the smartest man on earth……I was floored.
Everything I thought about my self was wrong.
This  isn’t going to get me upset  its only a  forum not a QA Document.
Some seem to want the debate, but not the facts.
they toss out the truth because it wasn’t spelled right.
Like the cop killer, he got let out because the prosecutions paperwork was not in order, and Hucks Hands were tied.
I wonder if Bry thinks that’s justice.

Daniel lived and thrived in Babylon, where the only place he was allowed to worship was behind closed windows at home, even though he was the most powerful man in the nation exept for the king.

I don't care if a town councel forbids a manger scene and I don't care if the president has a "holiday tree"......  I still say "Merry Christmas" on campus even though its frowned upon..  so what.

The Christmas season has become toxic or irrelevent which is fine with me...  Toxic just like the majority of the posts lately on our little forum here. Even in the technical side for the forum the vast majority of postings are catty, disruptive, off track, and uninformative..  Where is that Godly wisdom when it comes to conversation lately?....... and before you blast off on me... I'm bloody well allowed my opinion and personal judgment of the tone and tenor of the conversations around here.. I'm a member.

Real Chistians worship in America at least, without hinderance,,,,,,,, nontheless:

God's enemies may think they are doing big things....

they are not.

God is never thwarted, and his kingdom forcefully advances!

If you dont wanna celibrate the birth of Christ, why bother putting a tree up? Its a Christian tradition.

FixaLinc
Thank You for the links.
For about 15 years now I have been preaching the truth about christmas. I will have to check out this David Pack that you directed me to.
But I want to be clear I believe Jesus is God's only begotten Son and with out Him I am Lost.
Rick
The christmas tree you know did not begin with Christians It started with the continuing of newly converted Christians traditions and rituals brought with them from their previous beliefs.
Jeremiah 10 King James Version
1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Sounds like this was more the beginning of it. Way before Christians. Like Bryon stated pagan or heathen as the word from the Lord speaketh.
Hell the people that came to this country in the beginning saw the devil in the baggage that the catholic church got started by wanting to remember the converts previous traditions and beliefs. and tagging it with Jesus's birth.
Let those who believe in the Bible remember what happens when we think we know what God Would want.
Leviticus 10
1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
My # 1 wish is for people to give daily remembering who their gifts are actually from, GOD. And getting rid of the baggage surrounding this seasonal thing everyone is typing about.
I am off the podium now God Bless Us All
Sincerely
Marshall

I was actually referring more to the fact that this is the celibration of the birth of our Lord, but that is solid information. I still say that they understand what Dec. 25 means to us. It is not a winter holiday. It is not anything but the Lords celibrated day of birth. Belongs to Christ and His followers. Ya'll step off.

I don't know about them cats.  But which branch there's like 5 or 6 branches.

But I guess if we will have a Christian government then they should be included in the debate.  Or we could reorganize the structure of the government like in Lebanon where the President is a Maronite, PM is Sunni, and the Speaker of Parliment is Shi'a.

We could have a Catholic President, Baptist VP and Methodist Speaker of the House. Based on number of adherents.
Parent - By swsweld (****) Date 12-01-2009 04:19
Since you bring up numbers...let's give the Pres  number six and the VP number six and the speaker number six.
That equals what? Hey! it's 666, how bout them numbers :) :)

>"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

>      -- The First Amendment

I think this is the most misunderstood Amendment. Religion is a broad term. It includes Christianity and satanism. The same amendment protects both. The founding fathers experienced the state Church of England firsthand and wanted to separate and minimize the governments control over religion in America. The restriction is on the gubmnts control or involvement in religion. Not the other way around. As long as laws are not being broken, the gubmnt is to stay out of religion. In recent past the traditions (parades, nativity scenes, Christmas trees, etc) didn't create such a commotion. But times have changed and "BY God, you are not going to violate my right to be free from your religious traditions."

As far as traditions go, America is losing its "soul" due to PC and not wanting to offend anybody. So it's PC to kick Christian holiday traditions to the curb. In this ACLU sue happy era that we live in, even crosses are under attack from those that despise Christian traditions.

Bryon, You might recall that when these were the "colonies" that they were, with the exception of Maryland, Protestant. Maryland was formed as a place where Catholics could live without retaliation for their treatment of Protestants in the "old country".

As even these Christians could not get along with each other here, as they can't in Ireland, how can You expect them to get along with non-Christians?

There are, historicly speaking, Hanakua [sp?] bushes and Christmass trees. If You put up a tree at Christmass time, but call it something else, WHO ARE YOU FOOLING?

For all I care, He could put up a Festivus pole and berate His kids.

I am not a religious person, but I don't go around crapping on anybody elses holidays, as long as they don't harm Me.
