You did a very sweet job on the rig pipehead.

As for work, it's coming. I'm seeing more bidding action over the past month than I've seen in the previous 12 months. Just don't try to hold your breath until it gets here. Some of these jobs will take at least a few months before they are ready for welders. I hope and pray it doesn't take you that long to get work though.

Those are 12"dia X 15" deep and I have about 120' in there pretty easy could probably get 175 in there.

Also if you go with strait skirting instead of the having the angle break like i did you could make them deeper.

Great looking bed Pipehead. I know how much work it takes to build one of these. A lot of people see these and think you can throw one of these together in a week. The more detail....the more work. I know a man takes pride in his craft when I see one of these go down the road....Again, I salute you for taking pride in your work.

What did you do to secure the buckets closed to prevent theft? I have seen a bunch of guys with buckets but no real security feature built into it.

the lead wells have two round stock prongs that slide into two holes and then just lock with a simple master lock across from them.

so lids you see on top are removeable

You should look into getting a puck style lock I had those master locks on mine and the thieves still got in. I found the broken lock and after looking at it I could see pipe wrench teeth marks on the side of the lock. So I tested out a new lock and found that they will snap real quick with the twist of a pipe wrench.

I think you can order online or locate a distributor. I had my leads stolen twice in one week had to come up with a new plan. This lock has worked so far

get your own locks and fab your own hasps so u dont have those big plates to deal with

This is the way I lock my lead wells. I like wagon83's locks better tho. They'll use the same bolt cutters on your locks that they use on your leads.

Rig Hand have you given any thought to installing a lock bell? We place them over padlocks on tool vans all the time. Please excuse the crud drawing, nothing more than a 1/2 or 2/3 of a piece of pipe or square tube. Anything with just enough height to allow your hand in with key to unlock, but prevents bolt cutters or 24 inch pipe / crescent wrenches from getting to the padlock!
You could easily cut / rip a piece of pipe weld a backing plate to it on the backside, and tack it to the lead well cover. Then a thief would need a torch to get to your leads!
