Ahhh, but the sound of going through the ice is something you can never forget as well a the friggin cold that sucker punches you right in the face once one climbs out of the submarine and into the arctic environment!!! It still sends chills down my back even today!!! ;) We even had a soccer game with the former Soviet Navy up by the pole.. They're still pizzed that they were shut out by yours truly!!! :) :) :) Two ZIPPEROO!!! :) Maybe that's why we played so good!!! We were desperate to keep ourselves as warm as we could even though we were wearing our arctic gear which only did so much to keep us warm... The rest we had to do ourselves!!! :)

Anywho, The Earth wobbles at a certain angle which takes approximately 21 - 23,000 years to complete one revolution before it changes again to a completely different wobbling angle from it's poles... So then it's simultaneously also changing the geometry of it's yearly revolution around the sun every 41,000 years as well which when both are taken into consideration are the main reasons why the arctic ice is melting as fast as it is and the glaciers as well... because we are now rotating around the sun as close to the shape of a circle, and the north pole tilted more closely towards the sun, it's pretty much elementary that the polar ice especially the arctic Ice cap of the northern hemisphere would be melting as much as it is currently...

However, pretty soon relatively speaking of course, the tilting of the earth will change, and so will the shape of the revolution of the earth rotating around the sun to what can best be described as an ellipse from an almost perfect circular path it's presently navigating and this changes completely every 100,000 years or so!!!

Which means that right now we are experiencing one of these three different types of changes that effect the earth's climate at those intervals and they - meaning the scientist can only speculate when each and every one of those changes I mentioned actually occurs which is why they really don't have enough clues and pieces of the puzzle to put it all together!!! It also gives many who do not agree with the reason currently being pushed down our throats that Man is the primary suspect for altering the earth's climate in the last 100 years!!!

It also makes a heck of a lot more sense that we need to study the glaciers in the Andes Mountains better as well as in the Himalayas because those glaciers are within the Tropical (Cancer & Capricorn) regions of the earth where most of the sun rays, or solar radiation hits the earth as it rotates around the sun! All of this previous climate change data is based on what ice these scientists have studied from the antarctic and arctic regions only which would not give a more accurate understanding of how the earth's ever changing, and constantly wobbling of the polar axis and how the poles themselves change in relation to which one is closer to the sun for some thousands of years as they move closer and further from the sun as well during those 21-23,000 & 41,00 years which are not simultaneous as it has a lot to do with the suns own gravitational pull which fluctuates as well as the amount of solar activity also, and then one has to consider when the rotational shape of the earth revolving around the sun starts to change from an almost perfect circle to a pretty obvious ellipse!

These facts were only recently discovered by climatologist and other scientists from Ohio State University as the recently concluded studying many different Ice core sample extracted from glaciers that can be found within the regions of the Tropics such as the Himalayas and the Ande Mountains as well. These studies have also debunked many of the previous theories that came exclusively from the studying of the Ice core samples extracted from the polar regions of the earth which are not as old!

Yep! that's right!!! Not as old in age via carbon dating as the sample extracted by the scientists from the Tropical regions of the earth!!! And so the scientists can go back to over 100,00 years as opposed to only approximately 25,000 years in the polar regions which would not be enoughof going back in time enough to discover one of the three main pattern changes that the planet earth goes through roughly every 100,000 years or so!!! So the jury is still out on climate change especially what most scientists thought was the way the planet earth behaved with respect to it's ever changing relationship regarding it's distance from the sun which does indeed change more times than previously expected or even known!!!

So there's a whole lot more that still needs to be revealed before we can honestly put most of the blame of climate change towards human progress via the industrial age alone! Now, there is a very good possibility that the human factor has accelerated the changes in the climate, but to say that it's irreversible has not been proven yet especially in light of these fascinating new discoveries found by some of the brightest minds @ OSU and other collaborating institutions as well! In other words, we Ain't done just yet!

There are a few movements to the wobble the earth is experiencing.
I do agree , that ice melt in one area and freezes in another.
Even to the point where earth is a water planet. The flood for example. The ancient history books clearly record a massive flood.
Im not so sure that ice is the norm.
We see that mars at times has an ice cap, and at time does not….right?
I hope that this Massive Gov fraud wakes the population up and a desire for truth is born.

Hank, I wish I could have taken pictures of all that I saw in 14+ years of working on those boats during the cold war. The amount of damage that they can sustain is unbelievable. everything after Thresher has got to be the most durable construction ever seen in the modern world. I don't believe there has ever been any program even close to the effectiveness of SUBSAFE.

I'm glad that there are a few good men in here that can appreciate just what went into building and maintaining those marvels of engineering! ;) Guys like you and Gerald are the ones who kept those babies running in tip top shape!!! You guys deserve a whole lot more recognition for what miracle working you guys actually did in order to help keep our Country safe while us underwater Cowboys had fun either protecting the Carriers, or playing "hide - n - seek" with Ivan all over the world!!! :) :) :)

While past generations were being told that they are "serving" to protect OUR freedom, what they were doing in were denying others their's.

Perhaps that is what they call it in the military or one of your rallys. Regardless of Assured or Guaranteed its the same God damn thing. So once again your taking out of your ass. The possession of nuclear weapons between the Super Powers is what kept those nations safe. PERIOD! Now that there are NO Super Powers left then we're all out in the open for the picking by anyone with a box cutter. Glorifying service is a way of justification for attrocities committed or witnessed and a coping mechanism to deal with the guilt associated by nature within the human psyche. And more often than not, a way of seeking a reward for doing absolutly nothing.

I worked with a crackpot Vietnam Vet. He was a wanker that thought he knew everything and was a proud vet of the US Navy. When his number was called to be fired he cried about Vietnam Vet discrimination and according to him he couldn't be fired due to the Geneva Convention. Yes, the Geneva Convention. I enjoyed him rant and rave much like some here, about his service protecting America from the Vietnamese. I didn't realize that Vietnam was getting ready to compile a mass invasion force. He learned so much hand to hand training in the Navy as a cook of all things, a sailor is funny enough, but a cook. Perhaps Steven Seagal in "Under Siege" but your average cook, not so much. Seagal learned from Japanese not in the millitary....I digress, any way. This old fart was proud to be such a bad ass that he was getting ready to come to blows with my foreman.

My foreman happened to be from Laos via a Thai refuge camp. Being as ignorant as most peckerwoods are about people of color, this old wanker thought the boss man was Vietnamese. I was waiting and even egging this old bastard on to take a swing on the boss. The boss was a Muay Thai instructor in the Army in Laos and a professional fighter in Thailand and Las Vegas. That ass beating was what that old f*ck needed.

Being the not as violent man as I used to be, I use my intelligence to help the helpless masses whenever I can. So with humility I extend this lesson to you. "Those who can't do teach." But in your case there is nothing that I can learn from you except to give up my wallet whenever confronted by a few guys on the subway. For that lesson, I'm eternally greatful, although common sense would force me to do that anyway. But I'll keep you in mind if I'm ever confronted in such a way. Its never happened but you never know. :-)

If you have a printer and know how to use it I have taken the liberty in copying a few definitions for an online dictionary to help you with your hangup over the interchangability of the words ASSURED and GUARANTEED. I even have an example for you to paint a clear picture of the relationship between the words in question:

If they wanted to use the word Guaranteed, they would have which is why they used assured instead which by the way is not exactly the same meaning as guaranteed because the difference is although very slight, quite obvious Bryon.... You see Assured meant in the context they wanted individuals who had an average to above average intellect to understand as meaning as close to a guarantee as possible without actually using the word Guarantee which is irrefutable!!!

In other words Bryon, Assurance gives one the initial confidence of a guaranteed outcome without being backed into a corner and being called out for using the actual word guaranteed because of the slightest possibility no matter how remote, that there would not be a guarantee of mutual total destruction amongst both sides as a result of total thermonuclear release!!!

This is the reason why the word Assurance was chosen to be used as opposed to Guaranteed which if used instead would have been absolute, and I believe that even you know that there are no absolutes in any type of war, even nuclear war... Furthermore, since there never was any previous experience of such a type of war where the outcome was indeed experienced with irrefutable and empirical evidence to back up the use of the word Guaranteed, the powers that were at the time appropriately chose to use the word Assurance instead of Guarantee just in cas of the slightest possibility that they could be proven wrong no matter how small that remote of a possibility could be!

Of course, you have obviously shown to us in here that you are incapable of distinguishing the differences between the two words which I'll grant you ever so slight, yet enough to understand why the word Assurance was chosen to be used instead of guaranteed especially form someone who chooses to delude their brains with more than likely very boring movies of no value other than to escape reality! :(

I had an English teach once in High School that told us never to use "they" as in "If they wanted to use the word Guaranteed". I don't know who this THEY are. But, it still doesn't matter the words are interchangeable, besides this THEY never sent me a memo on the official name of the outcome of all out nuclear holocaust. So neither of us is correct for the simple fact that THE WORDS ARE THE SAME DAMN THING.

There ARE absolutes in any of war, Henry. The powers that start them fool everyone involved for the betterment of the few. The only ones that know the truth are the ones caught in the middle. But those people are not the ones that write history or glorify the outcome. Unfortunatly for America is that there has not been any modern war fought on American soil. So America sees war only in the movies and the glorified stories of those who've had the unfortunate job of participating. Not only the movies but now more than ever in the video games that the kids play. I would attribute the many military suicides on the fact that the glory is just not there and that the modern American psyche has lost the ability to wage war or win war.

I didn't say that everyone older than me is a crackpot but many have a dillusional outlook on modern and future of reality. I have seen many flaws in the thinking of older generations that have ruined a part of the world as we know it. As a matter of fact, I received a PM the other day from an older gentleman that all of you know. He confided a good portion of his life story to me. It nearly brought a tear to my eye. I would really love to share it with all of you but it was passed on to me in confidence so I will be selfish and cherish this story alone. His story pretty much sums up many of the flaws that I speak of about America. But his story would definatly fall upon deaf ears in here.

As far as you teaching ME anything. Give it up, there is nothing that you can teach me. You have tried to justify why your handlers have used assured over guaranteed which didn't work. You try to invoke God into "helping" me. You don't need to because he has put me in many situations over my life where I actually listened to and embraced many people that others like yourself have disregarded based on their upbringing.

I don't think you could ignore me if you wanted to for the fact that we are polar opposites. I can ignore you because I don't need you to justify or contradict anything that I say, because you are always wrong, except for the bouncing tits and the marvel that are submarines, although they are not that as much marvelous as interesting. And the tits were not all that good either, she looks like a bar whore from some dive in the middle of east Texas.

I'm a jerk because I don't fall for the same crap that some do. All of my comments are as worthy as anyone elses.
Let me see, my opinions are not worth a dime because they are different than others and yet I'm considered an ******* because I think other's opinions are screwed up. Nice!

I hide behind my father's service in Korea? WTF is that about. My father wanted nothing to do with Korea, he never GLORIFIED anything about the entire experience he had there. He received a Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart. When asked how he received them, he didn't try to GLORIFY it like Vietnam Vets I know have done. I was told that he saved a general from a whore house. I have never heard the true story or have I bothered looking into it because it is of no significance.

I'm sure that the "action" that was experienced by sailors during the Cold War is nothing compared to an infantryman in the Korean Conflict. Perhaps since I was not raised in a good ole boy, gung ho, hoorah environment then I was able to have a completely neutral stance and able to develop entirely unpolluted ideas about politics and foreign affairs. As well as my ability to exercise independent thought I was able to see the true nature of conflicts in the modern era.

As far as what I have learned through my father's military service its simple. There is no glory in war just, attrocities against fellow humans, and contrary to popular belief Koreans, Vietnamese, Iraqis and Afghanis are human. I learned more about service and the true nature of who is truly served by those in the military because I was on the outside looking in and never was indoctrinated to the illusions taught to military personnel. Which include the illusion that America is really threatened by these other nations. I learned that America had no reason to be in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan other than following the same policies that made the Soviet Union such an "Evil Empire".

I would think that my trend is an alternative philosophy to what most others profess. But let me hear your take on it. What I need to do is start a blog or even better, write a book. It would sell millions of copies and would show the world that the status quo needs changed. A far more important piece of literature than the poison spewed forth by Palin, Beck and Limbaugh.

When does a belief become a sin , well a thought of a sinful act has actually been committed in the heart , so a person is accountable ( strange concept in today’s times Accountability ) repentance should be sought..

You're right Mike! That is why I realized that sometimes as is in this case, they have no desire in being saved for they think there's a false sense of security by being defiant and omnipotent in their expressions which are only just that! Epressions, no more, no less... Sometimes one just has to let go and let God! That is what I choose to do here. ;)

Nothing that I say has anything to do with need of repentence. Nothing I say is contradictory to Church teaching. A belief becomes a sin when it is against the teaching of the Church. Belief of an alternative government, why would that be a sin? Over the 8 years that Bush and his minions destroyed the country (IMO) the Right were happier than a homosexual with a bag of rubber penises. In the meantime, the Left were strategizing alternative government. So now that the Left is trying to run things, there are people in Wall Street, country clubs, tea parties and Klan rallys that are strategizing an alternative government. A sin? No. Strategizing or trying to create another church is a sin called Heresy.

Why was Lucifer banished? Because of his rebelious nature against God. I have never been a proponent of apostasy or heresy but advocate an alternative opinion. Is my opinion on anything any more important than anyone else's. To me, yes. If I didn't think my opinion was better than anyone else's then why would it be my opinion. I would modify it to go in a different direction.

Some are adamant that the NWO is around the corner ready to eat children. Some believe that Obama was born in Kenya. Some think that Sarah Palin should be the next president. Are the holders of those opinions important to me, of course not, it is my belief that all of those are completely off their rocker. So that is where I come in.

Some believe that all natural resources and basic necessities of life in America (ie power companies, petroleum companies, food, insurance companies etc) should be highly regulated to maintain the affordability to ALL people. Some think that military spending needs reduced and more spent on social services including VA benefits. Some think that education and health care should be controlled by a "Cradle to Grave" policy regardless of cost (oh and by the way the cost will be shared by the upper income brackets). Now in my opinion those people that advocate those policies are right on the money and should be able to change the Constitution allowing them to stay in power indefinatly. While others would consider them to be, among other things, PUNKS, DUMBA$$ES, COMMIES, FASCISTS, LIBERALS and what other catch phrase is popular at the time.

Everyone's opinion is theirs for a reason. If given the opportunity they would right a book like Obama, Beck, Limbaugh and 1000s of others. If someone believes strongly enough then instead of just sitting at a bar or a Klan rally bit*hing about Obama and the Liberal-Commie-Fascists and would try to get themselves heard by other means, then why not do it. If they are not that sure of their theories or opinions to take it to the masses then they are the one's that need to shut the phuck up because they don't truly believe themselves or they are just clueless about their own existance.

I never said that I was going to reinterpret the Bible and start my own church. That would be heretical and has already been done hundreds of times since the Great Schism of 1054. So are my thoughts sinful, no. Are your's, no. Are both opinions valid, yes. And thus the idea of debate.

I must be in the minority of those that think banking needs regulated as well as the bonuses paid to the CEOs. I guess some like to be enslaved by the rich. But not me.
