Take a look at the owners manual, Lincoln says turn the auto idle off when running cv. With CO2 your gonna get a lttle more splatter but it shouldnt be that bad. 6.5 seems high on the volt setting, just have to keep playin with the settings till you find the sweet spot. Amp setting in the middle range?
