I really don't know. I forgot that KU had a football team until their Orange Bowl year. I thought that they would do good this year until they lost the game to Colorado. When you can't win Division games your season is over. I still don't know what REALLY went on with Mangino so I don't know if any of that crap had anything to do with KU chocking the last half of the season. Or if Mangino was just the scape goat so they axed him.
It takes players to make a team not just a coach. Top high school players will continue to ignore KU and go to Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska. I thought after KUs Orange Bowl that more talent would come here but one Bowl win isn't enough. The Big 12 is just a vicious as the SEC these days. Its dog-eat-dog here. I don't know if Gill or even Vince "Fu*king" Lombardi could do anything with a team that doesn't have an easy schedule or top talent.
I would like to see KU or even Nebraska in the BCS Championship but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.
