Though in some cases desireable I don't think a specific WPS is required for each prequalified joint detail. I have prepared WPS's which are for numerous joint details. In my opinion an individual WPS for each joint is a bit much. Like or similar joints could be combined to reduce the number of WPS's.

In my opinion the WPS MUST refer to the joint details in D1.1 either directly or as a group. IF not, the WPS doesn't meet the requirements of D1.1. The joints in table 3.3 and 3.4 are specifically referred to as being required if a WPS is to be prequalified. This is listed under para 3.12 and 3.13.
