AWS B2.1 Test......what to expect??

So Im told yesterday that this Friday myself and two other welders are being tested. I have asked for other information as to what the test involves, but like most things at my job I never get an answer.

So I work for a fire sprinkler system mfg.

What should I expect this B2.1 test to comprise of?

Any helpful hints?

sounds like the company is trying to meet a criteria in order to bid some job out. Doubt it will involve much more then you already do...but I am not familiar with the code.

ANSI/AWS B2.1
Standard for Welding Procedure and Performance Qualification
As far as what to expect it depends on a lot of things.
It probably will be one of the pipe tests, as you mentioned Sprinkler Systems

In many respects AWS B2.1 parallels ASME Section IX.

The welding procedure has to be qualified by testing or one of the SWPSs sold by AWS if the client will accept it. If the WPS is qualified by testing, it will be similar to the ASME test regiment.

Likewise for the welder performance qualification test.
