good thing he wasn't on the other side and his head wasn't to far over the other side because it would have smacked him in the face

And that's why somebody invented a nifty little thing called beveling band!  He's lucky, and I'm glad, that he didn't get hurt but this would make a perfect safety video for new helpers on the mainlines!

That guy cutting the top out of the tree looked like me several many years ago. We had a white pine that had the top broken out during an ice storm (many years prior to us deciding that the tree needed to go), anyway, a large branch grew out at an odd angle and was really tall compared to the rest of the tree. I climbed the perverbial ladder(the limbs grew out of the tree like rungs on a ladder) and made it to the top, pulled my chainsaw up to me with a rope and proceeded to cut that tall off shoot out of the top of the tree. I underestimated how much that thing weighed and when it left the tree it flung me around in the top of that tree and I was clinging for dear life. How it didn't shake me out, I don't know. I learned a very valuable lesson that day.

No safety glasses?

Why not cut from the other side? Some people...

cause I bet he NEVER expected that to happen.

thats funny, he probably thought he was slick with that pass the torch behind his back untill that broke loss. now hes cleaning the sh** out of his britches.  just my thought is, cut from the side the back-hoe is holding down.

Throing a cage clamp on it before you cut the last couple inches works and not riding the pipe helps.

Give the guy some credit - he didn't drop his torch!  Talk about ridin' J.R. the Bull.
