I've got a neighbor that smokes everything. Meat that is....How can I tell him that everything he cooks tastes exactly the same??

I've grown to hate his cooking, but love the shi* out of him. Should I just tell him??

At the risk of hurting his feelings, start eating those Swanson's Sweaty Man Dinners, Banana Enchiladas, Al Sharpton's Veal Medallions, Split Pea and Hamster Soup, Freak Show Sushi, or any type of unsmoked meat from a store called Pick n' Lick.  After that, you'll be ready to eat at Smoky Neighbor's again.  Repeat this as necessary.

I tend to get myself in trouble in matters like that, but to me I'd rather hear it bluntly than beat around the bush. Usually I'm just out with it.

Change the flavour of your rum for every sample. Things sshould look up after that or aleast you won't care as much and it is always nice to try some different rum.

Sourdough..

A neat thing a friend of mine started doing is using fruit in his water pan....the flavor makes its way into the meat.   But hey if he is the typical "you got to try this turkey I did" and he heaps piles of meat on you just be blunt about it.  Thing a like about GOOD friends is you can be blunt and it saves a lot of bs.  Other than that just tell the guy hey man try charcoal instead of wood for a change....or just grill some steaks instead of smoking it.   Great thing about smoking is the food will keep for a long time.....if you don't ever use a different wood it will always have that same flavor.
Oak, Cherry, Walnut and Pecan all have a unique flavor and are great for smoking.

I used brown sugar and alder when I smoked fresh Salmon back home. People never bitched, and ate till they were sick...

You might want give a present out of just kindness. Buy him some different woods to smoke with and then he will have different flavors on his meat. You may want to include some different rubs along with that wood. Here in Texas we have all kinds of different rubs. Heck, I make my own.

Yep, just gotta kick em off the bbq. Problem is, we have a mobile bbq that we intend to use for special functions and such. Propane tank modified, and on a trailer.

You are all right. Nip it in the bud.....nuff said!
