Funny he knew what was comming before it even happened.  I have an 08 300 D and it was the same way. I talked to a few other guys with the same machine and a couple of them said to run it hot and burn a bunch of 1/4 LH or 3/16 7010,hyp,8010 or something like that one rod after another and that would calm it down. It worked, well with my machine anyway. You might try that. Keep using it they are great welders no matter what some other people on here say.

when i got it, it had 40 hrs and all with 1/4's.  i still dont have that many hrs, maybe just need a little time.  oh yea i new it was coming.

I have also heard that until about 1000 hrs they can be a little crazy.

Was it load banked when new??
Parent - - By burleigh26 (**) Date 04-15-2010 01:33

Load bank it and check your rpms from factory they are usually a little High and need to be turned down also the load bank makes a big difference.

I have had 4 of these machines and everyone has done that.

thanks, i never load bank a machine. how does that help.

It will help seat the brushes and I don't really know what else it does for sure but they normally put my machine on it for 6-8hrs

ok thanks

I just had the machine I'm running now checked and factory was turning about 2000rpm so they backed it down and its much better

Still way better than a vantage ever hoped to be!lol

"Runs fine one day, real wet the next." sounds like you already have a vantage. LOL
I like my vantage, but its a wet stacker for sure. Good thing 95% of what I weld is standard wall.

The load bank also helps "break-in" your motor and everything else. It makes your welder develope its true personality a lot sooner.

You can turn the RPMs down on a 300D just like the 200D if you have the Kubota
