i got almost 50# of 5/32 5p+ that i think has a little to much moisture in it to use. i taped the open can with duck tape like a ol'boy told me to but it still has drawn moisture. how is the best way to store that type of rod?
In a ammo can or a plastic box with a gasket. P5 has to have a little moisture to work. If they have not got wet from water where the coating is starting to come off, they are ok to use. Just don't be doing any code work with them.
you can try putting them on a cookie sheet and let them set in the oven for an hour or so on low temp.
usually when it gets to wet to make a good weld it has a
white color blended in with the blue gray. if it has changed color use it on the farm
i had a guy tell me to store my rods in a old ice box with a heat lamp in it???
I used to do that, I had an old deep freeze I put a heat lamp in it and only run it about an hour a day works great
