Is the prequalified WPSs in D1.1 restricted to just one welding process? Lets use for example; a B-L2c-S joint configuration for sub-arc. The joint requires backgouging. Could you weld the gouged side with GMAW with spray transfer and not have to qualify the process?

There is nothing that prohibits such provided all essential variables are met. Unless something has changed. It was addressed in a D1.1 interp back in the 80's.

Here is the interpretation. However a Multiprocess WPS cannot be divided into its individual WPS's. A mistake I have made in the past.

Test at the papermill tomorrow so my brain is scattered. Have to take one of those personality profile tests that I never seem to be what they are looking for.
