What brand of rods did you use, the size and where did you have the machine set. I've got a small repair job and it would be easier to go and stick weld it. Thanks for the help.
stick welding aluminum is like running 5p but if the piece you are welding turns red its to late it will pop out and then you have a hole to fill so you have to run it fast
Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it. I never did any aluminum stick welding before, and the customer didn't want to load the boat if he didn't have to, so I'll give it a try and hope it comes out good. Don't want the boat to sink.
tried some many years go we were welding up ring grooves on large diameter pistons. Tig worked great . Salesmen came in and convinced the boss that this stick rod would do the same quicker faster and cheaper maybe the rods improved but we threw it all in the trash.
