I aim needing know how to figure take off 3R fitting 45 90 degrees and how you figure them.Thanks, okie

3r means 3 times the radius. So if you are working a 12 inch 3r 90 then the take off would be 36 inches.

The formula according to the blue book is radius x degree of turn x .01745

The radius of 12" pipe (nominal) is 6" not 12". It's 1 1/2 times the nominal pipe size. The take out for your 30" 90's should be 45"  for the 45 you start with 30" divide in half = 15 cut in half = 7.5 cut that in half 3.75. Just takes a second to write it out on paper in the field 30 15 7.5 3.75 then just add the 2nd and 4th number so the take out for your 45 should be 18.75"

That works on standard fittings but not on 3R fittings.

You can also take the diameter X .625 that will also work for a 45 on a standard long radius 90.

I yhate to sound stupid but I have never heard of a 3r fitting. What are they?

3R fitting are 3 times the radius of the pipe size. For all practical purposes they are an extreme long radius fitting, kinda like a sweeping 90

helps to not cause restrictions in the pipeline. also helps in pigging. and fenders LOL
