Do I need to create a PQR if I use a mirror inorder to see the weld?  I understand that it's a requirment in ASME but I am using D1.1:200.  any help??

It is not an essential variable in D1.1 for PQR requalification

But, the mirror dose need to be calibrated.

LOL This reminds me, I used to carry a convex mirror that magnified things so I could see the puddle better, I was young and knew everything ya know? One shift I was putting caps on six 4" butt welds, all required a mirror. Well, the mirror did magnify everything, including the light from the arc. I woke up that night with flash burn, and threw that stupid mirror in the trash. My dad used to say, " you gotta be tough when you're stupid"
