How do you get it flush? Unlike the steel sample that I've worked with, I can't seem to get these alumimum cupons flush without reduceing material thickness.
How flush is flush? With D1.1 code fig. 4.12 referes me to 5.24.3 for the flush tolerances, in D1.2 I do not find this tolerance.
With our WPS qualification plate we sent the test plates to lab for x-ray and bends. We would like to do in-house welder cert testing to this procedure in-house with bend testing, but we seem unable to get samples "flush" without reduceing material thickness. Additionally I see humps and transition line at edges of the weld and am concerned that these will be stress risers. Am I being to picky? Opinions please.
