I have a 58 sa 200, code 3555, it has a red faceplate on it but I've been told that it is actually a blackface.  Also I think the blackface's say 1445 rpm and the redface's say 1550 rpm.  If this is true should I be running 1450 rpm at high idle?  Also it doesn't have the round studs for the leads like most redface's.  It has square insulators.  I have looked everywhere on the internet and haven't been able to find the square insulators, which one of mine is broke.  Anyone know where I might be able to find one?

Kaye now has a "Welders Age" link on her website. All you need is the Serial # and Code. Here is the link.

I had a 57 with the square insulators, it was a 1450 rpm and had a black faceplate. If I'm not mistaken, 57 was the year the frames changed from shorthood to split panel large frames, I don't know when the rpm's changed though
