I attempted to TIG a damaged magnesium cover plate from a dirt bike. It out gassed typical of a zinc bearing alloy, ugly! The part has to be water tight. Any takes on how to either weld or braze the crack.

If the part doesn't have to hold against much of a load, like say from a clutch activation arm, JB Weld may be the easiest answer.

I fixed a non-structural area of a broken center case on a bike engine around the gear oil drain plug with it back in the 80s and it held fine with no leaks.
