There are much better places to get the training at a lower cost.
TWC has issues. I have seen decent welders come out of there, but to me what they charge for what you got is low.
You can get a good base at TWC, but it will come from you and your motivation. But do NOT believe the BS they will shovel at you and your parents, if you are a high school student. You will not graduate from the program capable of making 60 to 80K a year, You will spend 2-3 years honing your skills.
If you are looking at developing basic welding skills, a good community college certificate program is a good place to start. You are also building hours toward a degree that does have value where all the $$ poured into TWC will get you nothing in the future if you decide to advance your welding education. The $$ you spend at TWC would get you a associates degree, and enough money left over to rig out a truck.
Companies that hire welders could care less if you learn to weld at TWC, South Plains College, or were taught by your uncle Billy. There is the coupon, there are the leads, pass the test.
