Where can I find recommended practices for handling, processing, fabricating, etc. for stainless steel components to prevent iron contamination?

We are primarily a structural steel fabricator but do fabricate SS vessels and other components from time to time. I am trying to write a program/procedure for SS from star to finish of jobs that will give specific instructions to shop personnel on how to reduce/eliminate contamination problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How timely... Last Friday I finished writing a stainless handling and passivation procedure for the company I work for. I have a bunch of information I can give you if you are interested. Walt Sperko's website has a decent article here: http://www.sperkoengineering.com/html/Rust.pdf that might give you some ideas.

Use this link for Sperko's web page:

You also could look up Euro inox, Carpenter, Allegheny Ludlum and a few others as well...
