I have never seen a beveler like this.. I have seen a regular beveler but never one for cutting a saddle..

If they would let you use this it would sure be handy for a 12 on 12 branch test..

Ya I didn't even dare look up what they cost..

A branch is pretty much useless for anything other than testing now days though isn't it..??

They would use a T or whatever other fitting they need instead of a fabricating and welding up branch now days don't they..??

It dang sure wouldn't be worth spending all that money just to use on tests..!!

It reads like it is an attachment that fits on a normal beveler, so the price may not be as bad, but yes, You would need to use it fairly often to make the amortization work out.

it is an attachment you can buy for your beveler

Both Mathey Dearman and H&M have them for their machines. The kit bolts up to your saddle machine so yes you can buy just the kit. I bought a 6" saddle kit so we could build pipe guards for water valves. So from now on if we need to we can buy just the template for different sized saddles or offsets that will fit our particular saddle machine size. Very much a time saver if you have a bunch of pieces to cut!

The questar gas training weld shop has one.  Works pretty good theirs left it saddle pretty tight so there was still a fair bit of grinding

They provided that beveling attachment for the saddle tests for the Illinoise spread on the REX Line in 2008.  One slick tool, left you about 15 minutes of grinding time for a surgical fit up, which was a good thing cause there were 4- 42" butt welds to 4 different procedures you had to brother-in-law with 16 staps each and a saddle for every procedure as well.  Made a long day a little easier.

I understand they are out there. Never seen one in my life. Would love to own it, though!

I do believe that it would be very handy on the test. I am going to get one for sure. You still do saddles in the field not very often but on occasion. And hot tapps are saddled at least the ones I've been around.
