Could someone please explain to me what "Premature Release" means when pertaining to a horizontal gas well being drilled?

It all depends on what position you have on the rig of what the definition will be.  IE: Driller, Pusher, Derrickman, Motorman, Floorhand or Worm. It sounds like to me that someone is going to be looking for the key to the Vee-Door or the Drain in the Reserve Pit

It sounds like someone is trying to tell you about a "KICK" which is when they hit a High Pressure Pocket that they were not expecting. It happens alot and sometimes it results in a Blowout if the BOP is  not "Shut In" Correctly
