Hey Shad Did you have or use to have one of those ARC 1 lenses? If you did how did you like it? I checked out X540V Xtreme , http://www.arc1weldsafe.com/auto-darkening-filters.html . It was thin as a regular glass lens and normal dimensions, and pretty darn light. I am tempted to get one.
Hey Tommy, I use a #9 and it's OK. They are just a little thicker than a glass lens. I use mine in a Huntsman slider so I can grind and weld without changing shields. I had to remove the little tab that holds the lens in because of the extra thickness and the lens just floats... sometimes it falls out. "I gotta fix that one of these days" Ted
I just bought a auto lens on ebay for 20 we'll see how good it is I also ordered a shade 10 arc one from ebay I figured what the he'll if I don't like it I can always sell it
Got the 20.00 lens in last week its a proline fixed shade 3-11 its a lil darker than the arc one 10 i got. the arc one is being replced i think it was defective i sent the seller a message thru ebay and got told a new 1 is on the way so we'll see. I'm using the proline now and like it gets a lil unfocused at times but not to bad. its worthe the 20 i spent.
Miller part # 770 660 shade 8. Used it for two days now and is a lot clearer than my Arcone. No blotches or dark/light areas. A little thinner then the Arcone also. Gonna order a #9 because the 8 is a little bright in the winter sun of S/E Pa.
Hey Shad, it was 85. Used it today and like it even more.
Hey Dave, I live in Airville and everyday I wake up next to my high school sweetheart the sun shines for me!!! OOOOHHH you mean the 76" of rain we had last year- yeah that sucked----- unless you are a sump pump sales man....... Ted
Thanks Dave, I've been up in the mountains for a couple days putting on weld over sleeves. Between driving and welding I'm wooped but will keep that in mind for next year. And I am in the market for a large bench top lathe- Thanks Ted
