I was given a half full tank of hydrogen. I have been brazing copper together on some personal projects and was wondering if I can use this tank of hydrogen in place of the acetylene? I read some about it but it was based on brazing aluminum. Stated the torch pressure was the same but heat btu was less. Could I just simply hook it up with my setup like it is and braze copper to use up this hydrogen? Thanks.
You really need to call your local welding supply store and ask one of their gas people. A half bottle of hydrogen has enough potential energy, that if were used incorrectly it could destroy your house and anything close to you.
Thanks I realize the danger. I would guess it to be the same with the acy tank. My local gas company is full of salesmen. most the time they cant even tell the tank size by looking at it. That is why I came to a welding forum.
