You got that right, they fly, but they don't stay rightside up. Take the time to learn that boat before You run it hard, and it will be a lot of fun.

Cactus do you fly? If I was in your elephant hide work boots, I'd have a Mooney for sure. And just fer giggles a Super Cub so I could go low and slow when the mood hit me.:grin: On second thought, maybe a DeHavilland Beaver just cuz the sound of a radial engine always makes me giddy.

I dont fly............yet. I bought the Boat from a Private Pilot in Shreveport. He kept it stored in his Hanger

If you ding it up I know the best fiberglass guy in the dragboat biz...his one the world champs twice.  Course that looks a lot more like a formula boat, motor is not scary or crazy.  Definitely helmet material though.

The Motor is a 2.5 built by Mercury Racing.

At 105 it will leave the water. But wil will land again.  The 2.5 is a workhorse

I am told it will run around 125. I AM NOT gonna do that until I learn how to drive it. Then it will be Wide Open all the time !!

Be carefull going over cooler shallow water, the lift is a bummer. Nice blur over 120. Good luck, might consider a cockpit with O2.

Tell her not to worry Cactus, if she hits the water at any speed above 50 she'll skip like a flat rock for at least the first 50 feet or so, after that it could be a "yard sale" as some snow skiers describe those types of events. Back when our family was into jet skiing I came off at 70+ a few times, thank God for wet suits and good flotation vests, at least they take a lot of the "Bite" out of the those kinds of landings. The guy is a friend of a friend, I don't know Him or what He charges for a MIG 19. Some years back My friend who knows Him took a flight in one, including a supersonic run over the ocean.
