I had to cut them in thirds to transport them, and reassemble them at their final destination. They are too large in tact to transport.

Ya, no doubt. And a few bottles of oxy/acetyline and one or two boxes of rod. Were you the only welder?

3 of us tackled it. 3 silos are being reassembled here in Colorado, and 3 more in the fall, down in Nevada.

As far as consumables go.....I, personally, have burned 200 lbs of rod so far. We are only half done on phase 1. It's a 3 phase job, to the tune of 50 million of plant expansion budget. Believe it or not, us welders are the lowest on the totum pole, as far as the contractors go.

I figure this one will lead to that one, and so on. It always seems to on oddball fab jobs like this. I hope this is the one that gets me back in the tax bracket I can appreciate more.......ha ha.
