Dear Masters,

How to distinguish between ERW Pipe from seamless Pipe...

by Visual or NDE Method (eg. Radiography).

polish and etch. Obviously seamless pipe will not have a seam.

In the majority of cases, by touch. Press your thumb and the finger next to it (what's the name in English?) onto the pipe end and slide them all over the pipe periphery. In the majority of cases, you'll feel the seam on your touch.

But that look like a defect from manufacture caused by it dies in extrusion process. (when I pressed with my thumb)

I saw that indication like scratch from external, but very smooth from internal..Ten pipes have same indication.
So I asked for RT, then the result is like hi low or sratch as long as pipe.

I think only polish and etched , microetch can reveal that. (CWI555 said)

Thanks

First. If ten pipes show the same indication and the indication occupies the whole length of the pipe, chances are that the indication is actually the welding seam. I said "chances are", not "it is". Observe them carefully and make some further rewsearch. .
Second. As I said in my first post, "in the majority of cases", not in "all cases".

That could be a reeling mark from the manufacture of the pipe if indeed it is seamless.
