I am off to Troy Ohio for the best anual blacksmith conference anywhere.

If You are interested, go to Miami County Fair Grounds in Troy Ohio [just north of the Hobart/Miller building].

This event oficially runs from Friday night through Sunday afternoon 9/21-9/23 , but unofficially starts about Tuesday.

There are several demonstrations by expert smiths going on all the time, and an area to try it Yourself.

There is a lot of new & used blacksmithing & related equipment to buy if You want, or sell Your extras.

$60 entrance fee for the whole event, $35 for one day.

Sounds like a good time Dave. I wish it was closer to me. Give us a report when you get back.

Dave,
Will they have an Anvil Firing Competition?
I've always wanted to attend one of those.

I am back from Quad States Conference & had a good time.

I don't take a camera, as Mine uses film.

I have never seen an anvil shoot, I think there is something written in the ABANA rules that prohibits it in their afilliated clubs.

For Me, it is mostly a social gathering with friends I know from the net, but only see there.

The demos are usually crowded, and noisy if not wearing earplugs.

We had some rain & high wind to deal with, not unusual for this time of year.
