I still manually sign off(initial and date) every six months to maintain my welder's continuity. Are you wanting something to be automatic, like using VBA coding to automatically fill out your continuity records every six months?
I set up mine in Excel. I created my spreadsheet 'database' and then created reminder notices in my MS Outlook calendar. A lot work initially to setup but minimal work to maintain. It worked well for a shop with 15 welders.
I have 300 welders and probably 900 corp wide. I'd like something that will generate reports by supervisor and tracks the WPS's they are qualified too. Probably gotta spend some ching. PWC
Try these. I have used CSPEC Weld Office software before, it works well but is pricey and as I recall you have to purchase updates each time the codes are revised/updates. The WPS America is an on-line storage system that I have no experience with but it has very good reviews.
I have developed a few and can maybe help you . What version of access are you using?
Now a continuity only database is much simpler than a full blown system for managing performance qualification. I have also built those but strongly suggest C-Specs WPQ module at http://www.cspec.com/csp-wql.htm.
I used to work for GE, and a welding engineer there developed an application called eQuals. It think it is available for the open market, but I don't know the price or where it is sold.
