"...This individual was working in a metal shop when a grinding wheel broke and shot across the room. The wheel hit him just below his hard hat. I was a Forensic Autopsy Technician at the time, so that should answer the big question on everyone's mind."

yikes.

Saying

"Thanks Joel" seems some how wrong, but we do need to remember STUFF happens.

Can't be TOO careful

That picture says a lot...

I have a power point from Flex-O-Vit on grinding wheel safety that I use in my training classes. It mixes info with gory pics to help the info sink in.
If anyone is interested in getting a copy, PM me your email and I'll send it. (7 MB large)

Tim I'd like to see what you have...I may have the same info from them, but would like to see if you have any additional info to add to my safety library.

Tim,

I'd like to have a copy of that.  I do technical presentations in AZ Section AWS meetings.  Sounds like that would be a good one.

Joe,
Overseas I got local grinding wheel availability. They were good on grinder turned grinder on, touch iron for less than five seconds they desiderated. Tossed and got the more expensive. Luck no one got hurt. If new exciting grind wheel "brand" test with care! I hope this is helpful

We hire a good bit of unskilled labor and train them up. Can never have too much safety training.
Please forward a copy.
Thanks
