Ok, I know there is a thread about Tillman welding gloves but wanted to start a new thread so folks would see it instead of being buried at the bottom of an existing thread.

American made welding gloves. Here is the website of the manufacturer, http://www.shelbyglove.com/

I contacted them today(2-15-13) and spoke with them. They ARE 100% American made in Arkansas. Their home office is in Germantown, Tennessee. They also use 100% American made materials, I asked that question as well. I have not priced them out yet. You cannot buy direct from them but she gave me two phone numbers of distributors where you can call and order them.

First Place was Wilson's I believe, search on the phone number is showing up Galena Park, Texas. They are a distributor of the Shelby gloves and order welding gloves. The phone number is 713-675-2421

The next place is called Shannon Safety Products, search on phone number is showing Bridgeville, Pa. They are also a distributor of the Shelby gloves. Phone number, 412-257-4700

I'm not sure of pricing on the gloves as I have not called either place yet. To late in the day, it's Friday and I am off the clock!!! LOL!!

I hope this helps out, told them there were a bunch of welders on a website that were fed up with Chinese made gloves that cost a fortune while the guy in China making them gets paid $2 a day. I'm going to give them a call and find out costs on Monday.

nice thanks for the link, curious to know how long does those aluminum reflective gloves last?

Shawn thanks for the link

When I first started I'd burn them up pretty quick so I stopped buying them. Then I would toast my fingers on the left hand pointer finger pretty bad. After a few years now I can make a left handed glove last for.....years.....:lol:

I know its sort of late but...Atlas also makes their gloves here at least the Blue Chip line. They're the best gloves Ive ever used!

:) Thanks for the welcome.

I rather like Atlas tools and would like to give them a good review. Their chipping hammers are good as well but the gloves are 2nd to none.

I'm pretty picky about my gloves, if they are the standard "oven mit" welders gloves I don't care for them. I'll look into those Atlas gloves but seems most "stick" welding gloves have about 5% dexterity, are super thick and when you put the stinger in your hand it feels, well, it don't feel cause there's just to much glove. Maybe I'm the only weirdo out here in the world that likes the unfortunately made in China Tillman 750's and 875's because they are thinner, have more dexterity, feel to them.

Haha!! The joys of aging! Been busting my hump moving into the new shop, getting things organized, right knee bothering me....well, guess that's about it for the pain!

I find lately I'll just throw on a pair of tig gloves for stick.

As am I. My recommendation doesn't come cheap. Ive used a number of gloves and decided Atlas was the best. Not only are they thinner giving better dexterity they're also better insulated.

Jimmy, Which ones do you use & like?  I found Atlas but seems maybe they don't make all they sell and are distributors for others like the Black Stallion gloves.  I've used the Black Stallion for years & like them our LWS carries them but not the Atlas gloves I saw on there.  Have no idea where they get the Black Stallion gloves.  Black Stallion are thin soft ones for MIG & TIG and other work maybe come from Revco or BSX Gear ?  Hard to tell if anything is really made here today they put made in USA tags on stuff in Mexico & China.

I'm not sure where the Black stallions are actually made but they are my preferred glove. I really like the fit and feel of the 850 series elk skin with the Nomex and felt lining. IMO they are much nicer than the Tillman 850 although they look practically identical. Tillman's just have a foam backing in them for padding.Another great brand that is definitely made here in the states and are actually custom fitted to the size of your hand would be Yellow Stone.  http://www.yellowstonegloves.com/

Thanks for the link.  Their other gloves look good but they only show one pair of welding gloves that are clearly imported as are some others they distribute.  Those lineman gloves look good if need big cuffs.

I use their Blue Chip blue/tan model which, according to their website, says Made in USA. I think thats correct too, they really are made here. No one in my area stocks them BUT Airgas will order for me. I contacted Atlas directly and they were willing to sell directly if they werent attainable locally.
