Hi all,
I am new here and I am going to get my welding certificate this fall.
what is the best way to go about getting a good welding job? or the best skills I need to land a good welding jod?
are welding jobs in demand now?

Welcome to the forum Jason.
There isn't any one good way to get a welding job, instead there are lots of ways.
I can tell you that we look for people who have at least a basic knowledge of welding. People who have little experience but have a good attitude also have a good chance.
The experience you will need greatly depends on what kind of welding you want to do. I would try to audit a few welding jobs to see what the work is like and what skills are needed. Learn all you can, and don't overlook the non welding but related skills too.
There are no guarantees but making yourself valuable to an employer is what gets you the jobs.

PS- If someone sends you to get a beam stretcher or a bucket of bolt holes, you might want to think about what they are saying.

I agree with Chet.
This is a good forum for information about welding, and if you scan some of the posts, I am sure you will find several links to job opportunities.
