Up Topic American Welding Society Services / Certifications / do I have enough time to qualify

Hello All,

I completed Tulsa welding school in 2008.  This was a 7 month course. I have worked since then as welder in in various company's. With my current employer I am now part of the Quality department and am certified level II UT/MT
My questions are how much credited will I get for Tulsa welding School? Does my welding experience need to be code related.
What work experience verification do I need to get? Some of these company's were bought out by other company's

See if this is what you are asking about.

https://asnt.org/MajorSiteSections/Certification/ASNT%20NDT%20Level%20II%20Program/ASNT%20NDT%20Level%20II%20Initial%20Qualification%20Requirements.aspx

It is the required number of experience hours in each NDT method to be certified as a Level II.
Hope that helps.

You can use any welding experience and work related to the welding field for your years required.

http://www.aws.org/certification/CWI/

Look under "Do you qualify?"

do I have to get verification from each employer? Or just my current?

Well that depends on whether or not you have been in the welding field enough years to satisfy the required experience criteria while you have been with your current employer. If not you will need to use the time accumulated at the other places of employment to gather enough time together.

Thank you  jwright650
I have a little over 4 years of work related welding\inspection experience. The completion of Tulsa welding school 30 semester credit hours, and 750 contact hours of instruction. If AWS will accept Tulsa transcripts for one  year of vocational education and training in a welding curriculum. I should be fine. I think .

In AWS B5.1-2003, the work must be to a recognized national or international standard.
