Can any one tell me what consumable for GMAW is used for on EH-36 material, ship building?
Better yet a weld procedure for a groove weld in the this material?

Sir,

among those "3rd Stage Guild Navigators" (i.e. "5 Diamond Owners") of this forum, there is one gentleman undoubtedly esteemed and appreciated due to his expertise and merits in here.

While reading your question and with all due respect, I wish, as this quote fits well to your question, to cite him as he did recently state in response to another post:

"What you're asking us to do for you is something that many of us are paid good money to produce so, don't expect much especially without any details, or not exhibiting an understanding of how to develop a WPS [...].

Now give us all of the details and we'll go from there but, you must do most of the work because all we can do is to guide you somewhat through your current dilemma...

So describe in absolute detail what you are doing
."

So, what does that mean?
To get straight to the point, hopefully not missing it. Reading your post, according to its expressiveness, immediately raised my answer:

'A wire electrode'.

Understand?

Regards.

fschweighardt,
I admit to actually have no idea.
Honestly I was hoping to learn something new, beginning maybe with some greater insight into the details of the OP's application.
However, knowing your consistently profound and always well considered advice on this forum; I am sure that your choice will provide the OP with a very precise estimate.

"Now I truly control the worm...and the spice."

Hard to believe. At last, I seem to have found a fellow traveller. :)

Was I the only one that saw a Sand Worm skeleton in a desert scene in the first Star Wars movie????

Sandworms don't have skeletons :)

Superflux,
"Mostly due to daily doses of self prescribed herbal medication."
Though being sure that you also need to be counted among the forum "3rd Stage Navigators"; I nonetheless hope that you're not yet among those ones who the spice has mutated over 4,000 years for finally obtaining this most unique physiological shape! :)

My sincere apologies to the OP for highjacking his post.
