Hi,
I'm looking for any input on benchtop welding positioners. I know of the ones made by MK Products and AllFab but no real experience with either one. Does anyone have one they like or maybe one I should stay away from? It would be used almost exclusively for tig welding small (>50#) steel and aluminum jobs.
Thanks,
Kevin

I am very happy with my Koike Aronson. Contact: 635 West Main St. PO Box 307 Arcade, NY 14009 - 716-492-2400, Fax 716-457-3517 This information is from my 1997 catalogue, so it may be outdated.

Kevin,
You might look at the Bench Top positioners at Weld Plus Inc. they have a nice selection at http://www.weldplus.com/products.asp.
Both new and reconditioned used positioners. The MBC is a very good one but they have larger ones.
Just remember positioners are rated center of gravity from the face plate away as well as the center point of the table away toward the edge. This is important for loads that are not concentric in weight distribution.
Thanks for the responses. I've been using an old MK Products Aircrafter (from a company I contract for) that has been used and abused. I'm getting eough work to justify getting one and I think I will get The PS-1F-5 from All-Fab Corp. Their link is http://allfabcorp.com.
Thanks again,
Kevin

Thats a nice Japanese positioner and Jim at Allfab is nice and easy to deal with, but I prefer American Built equipment.
If you need a part for the MBC you can find it a bit easier at local belting and trans house or Grainger.
I am sure the MAC positioner you bought will serve you well.
