Hi everbody,

As per ASME sec IX, QW-452-1 Performance qualification Thickness limits and test specimen, max. thickness of deposited weld metal qualified is available. However, There is no min. thickness of deposited weld metal qualified for welder performance test. So, Is it QW-451-1 Procedure Qualification thickness limit we consider or is there any limitation for min. thickness...?

Thanks all.
Kind Regards.

What I under stood from a class I took at the National Board in Columbus OH, performance does not have a minimum weld deposit thickness. Your WPS has minimun base metal thickness requirements and that is what you have to watch for.
