Good afternoon.
Does anyone know the requirements to getting TACOM certified for plug welds?

You're got to be more specific with respect to material type and numbers, process, and any other specific information that can possibly help us to help you... Is that Army or Air Force?

Respectfully,
Henry

TACOM is the tank and automotive command. It  deals primarily with welding armored and other vehicles. The requirements are similar to AWS D1.1 with additional qualification requirements for welded joints subject to ballistics.

I took a quick look, but didn't see any specific requirements. That is not surprising considering AWS D1.1 didn't include specific qualification requirements until recently.

I thought it was that one... I wasn't 100% sure and yet I knew that there are a few of that either work(ed) with, or have done so in the past with that standard to get an accurate answer.:grin::wink::cool:
