Just a quick question! Does every member have access to this part of the forum now?

Yes
UUMM...there were reasons Ross and John went to the system that was in place. Kept some people out on purpose and kept wanderers from stumbling in and confusing our passionate non-welding opinions with anything at all to do with the AWS and welding. Requesting to be there meant you understood there may be offensive material and extreme emotions involved.
But, if you think that's how you want it this isn't an issue I'm taking sides on, just sayin'.
Brent
Once again someone new comes along and decides to do something to the forum without knowing why, or informing us beforehand like Ross would when they wanted to change things in here... This is the one place in here where long standing members can go to in order to let loose about topics other than welding... This was also the one place where one didn't have to worry about offending or discouraging newcomers to this forum because of the way some topics were discussed in the forum elsewhere... This was a sanctuary for some of us to share a joke or two that could offend someone else in any of the other sections of this forum... And I'll say it again... This place was limited in access so that no one new person could be offended when some of us discussed topics unrelated to welding... You disappoint me Roque! And I suspect that I'm not the only one who's disappointed also... Geeze! You might as well shut it down all together for crying out loud!
Respectfully,
Henry

Sorry for disappointing you. Nothing content-wise has changed. Please continue to enjoy the off-topic board as usual. I assure you nobody is going to be offended by the recent mother's day postings or discussions of archery. Now all members can join the fun.
Roque,
While I hope I am wrong I must say that you may end up regretting the decision to leave the OTB&G open later on down the line.

Just hope the Newbies don't research too deep into the past.
Some might take offence to a few of the fun and festivities (opinions) posted in days of yore.
where is the "tips of the trade" section or what ever it was called?
For the most part they appear to be under 'Welding Fundamentals'. But I'm pretty sure I have seen some in various other locations as well.
Brent
No disrespect Roque, I'm sure you are good at your job, but don't you think someone that knows welding should be organizing the threads?
I've never seen such a disorganized forum before, with topics and threads in the wrong place!
Henry,
my good friend
I think this new format and things is why Ross left
just imho your correct like always
sincerely,
Kent
WHAT IN THE HELL happend to this forum..? I used to love this place now its like an ADD 12yr old said lets play with the forum. The information on this Forum was pure GOLD. Now you cant find a dam thing. Its terrible. Who ever changed this format needs to go back to whatever they used to do and put the forum back the way it was so we can find all the Old and some newer information. Sheepers people..!
Hello RC, I certainly can't argue with the body of your post. I miss a lot of the past as well. Best regards, Allan
Agree with you 100%........ If it ain't broke don't try and "fix"......... Don't look at to much, just to see how things are going with some of the other members......
Been away for some time now. This half breed new format leaves a lot to be desired. Reminds me of the nuclear world. If it ain't broke, hit it again.
Gerald,
Or... "Since it ain't broke, I think I'll F@##$% with it until IS!"
Just a little "chit-chat"
LOL.. that one goes on the wall of my office.
LOL....good one L
WTF, anyone look at the Puget Sound section? That stuff don't look like section news to me.
Went and looked, most of it appears really old.
Me too, wonder if some of those old posts got mislocated in the new forum switch a ruu?
