For those of you who work with bend test samples what degree of tolerance do you deem to be acceptable from stated dimensions in terms of width and thickness? I know AWS D1.1 and ASME do not really give a tolerance but clearly there has to be some. I mean if I mic a 3/8" side bend specimen and it comes up .374 does it fail? Or a 1" plate that after ground/machined comes in at.994? You know what I'm saying. What is generally accepted?
