Is there any welder better than me? Haven't seen any yet.....just wondering.

That's what I like to see; confidence.

A welder without confidence is just another rod burner.

There are some pretty amazing talents out there.
I've seen a welder weld 5/32" SMAW Monel in position from the bottom of a 5G with one hand while standing up.
I've seen a welder run two SMAW cellulosic roots simultaneously from top to bottom on both sides of the pipe.
I've seen welders weld with mirrors and through opposite grooves to run roots from the back side.
I've seen welders weld GMAW-SC open root in the 6G position uphill.

Seems to be a pretty common issue among welders.

That's not a gap my thumb won't fit in it .
That's not a gap I can step accross it.
I can't see the other side, now that's a gap!!
Heard something like this along the way,
think of it every time someone has a gap issue.

Why sell yourself short when Trump is still needing a running mate.  The two of you sound like a perfect match.

As funny as that sounds... I bet old Sourdough is every bit as good as he says he is.

I don't know. Maybe he needs to change his clear lens.

Since I quit welding, the title is up for grabs.

I did have a student come in awhile back that had "22 certifications" but needed to brush up on his skills. he is probably in the top 10.

Pics or it didnt happen:evil::twisted::lol::grin:
That being said SMAW is far from my favorite process and I give the people who can do it in adverse conditions much credit... Have fun while I sit at my table with my coffee and parts I can move around by hand :lol:

Sorry Sourdough ,I have 5 apprentices that are better than you ,me and anyone else,at least thats what they keep telling me  lol
Parent - - By Smooth Operator (***) Date 12-15-2015 02:25
Sourdough ......Sorry got 2 ......maybe 3 Ironworkers out of local 6 ......tell me they're the best......one even "demands" $2.00/ hr. More than the negotiated union rate to weld on the job......To rich for my blood, I just want my steel welded by a welder that passes x-ray, visual or whatever is spec'ed.......Anything beyond that doesn't interest me........
Parent - - By ssbn727 (*****) Date 12-15-2015 03:02
Don't forget a welder that also completes the job on time so there aren't any delays in scheduling as well.:cool:

Respectfully,
Henry

All of ours claim they are the best on earth, that's why we are recalling a few hundred weldments...

I put a copy of this in each of their weld areas..

Never met a welder worth his salt that couldn't fix anything other than a broken heart or the crack of dawn.
