Is TTS welding qualification is essential as per ASME Sec VIII Div 1 because as per sec VIII Div it is under non mandatory appendix

I do not have a current SEC VIII however in the past, TTS specific qualifications were required only when invoked by the code of construction.

I do not fully understand the wording of your question.

Actually code of construction as per ASME Sec VIII Div 1 does not ask for TTS  qualification .
ASME Sec V clause QW 202.6 states that it can be qualified by simple groove weld joint also, but as TTS welding involves dissimilar thickness which criteria should be taken care.

I am sorry but I do not understand what you were asking in the 1st post nor your response. What I indicated in my previous post seems to be what you repeated in your 2nd post.

Hopefully you will get your question answered .
