I just lost my supplier for the above mentioned product and am looking for a new one. Anybody know if this product is always double coated or if only some manufacturers decide to do it this way.

That is a low hydrogen electrode. Double coated? Never heard of it.

I agree, not familiar with "double coated".

I looked it up with my Google research tool :)
Sellers of double coated electrodes say it works better bridging gaps and on root passes for pipe with Low hydrogen SMAW requirements.
Google brought up about half a dozen makers on the first page

Interesting, not that I see a lot of E7016 being used in these parts.
