Dear Sir~
According to AWS D1.1, studs may be welded using FCAW, GMAW or SMAW processes.
But, In case of AWS D1.5, studs may be fillet welded by only "SMAW".
Question!!. When AWS D1.5 was applied in project, studs cannot be welded FACW processes?

AWS D1.5 Clause 7.5.5 gives the option to manually weld with SMAW...(no mention of anything else)

C7.5.5 says the option for manually welded SMAW is if there are a limited number of studs to be welded, you have the option not to use the stud gun. Out in the field, I'm not sure they like FCAW to be used at all.
